Studio Policy

Tuition & Payments

Tuition is charged per term and covers a reserved weekly lesson time, lesson planning and studio resources, teacher training and professional development.
Invoices are emailed at the start of each term and are payable within 7 days.
Lesson times are reserved upon payment.
If payment is not received by the due date, lessons will be paused and the student's time slot may be offered to another family.
All payments are non-refundable.

Studio Calendar

The studio operates on a term schedule.
Lesson dates will be provided before the term starts.
Tuition fees are based on the total number of lessons per term, not individual lesson dates or attendance of lessons.

Unattended Lessons

Unattended lessons are not refundable or transferable.
If a lesson is missed, students may request:
· an online lesson at their usual time
· a video feedback lesson (subject to availability)
Requests should be made with as much notice as possible.
If the teacher cancels a lesson, a catch-up lesson or credit will be provided.

Punctuality

Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time.
Late arrivals will result in a shorter lesson and times cannot be extended.

Parking

Street parking is available. Please do not park in or across the driveway, even briefly.
Under 11 year olds must be accompanied into and collected by their adult from the studio.
When dropping off over 11 year olds, please wait until the student has entered the house before driving away.

Student Commitment

Regular attendance and practice are essential for progress. Students are expected to attend lessons consistently and come prepared. Students are expected to build a regular practice routine and should aim to practice 5 days each week.
If practice is inconsistent or a student is finding things challenging, support and guidance are always available. Please feel free to reach out so we can work together to support progress.

Withdrawal Policy

Half a term (5 weeks) written notice is required to stop lessons.
If sufficient notice is not provided, fees in lieu of notice will be payable.
Once a term has begun, fees are non-refundable.

Professional Standards & Safety

The safety and wellbeing of all students is a top priority.
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and complete annual safeguarding training to ensure best practice is maintained. Lessons are conducted in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
Reasonable steps are taken to ensure a safe teaching environment for all students. Parents/guardians are responsible for informing me of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or additional needs that may affect lessons.
The studio is fully covered by appropriate public liability insurance.
I am a member of the Independent Society of Musicians and am committed to maintaining high professional standards in teaching and professional development.
Please note that two friendly cats live at the property and may occasionally wander through the studio space. If this presents any concerns, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.

Participation in lessons implies consent to these terms and conditions.

Thank you for being part of the studio!
